Hey am bk.....did u guys miss me or is it jes my (self-obsessed) feeling???? whatever...but since I'm bk n got some free time n a topic n in the mood to post something n not feeling lazy!!!! not necessarily in that order.....
Actually...........I had been too lazy to post somethin....tho I had loads of news after my UK trip.....

Tho this aint the first time I'm travelling abroad...already been to Malaysia, Singapore, Maldives etc., but this definitely is the first time I'm travellin abroad officially....n the best part is..........u guessed it......I dont foot the bill!!!!

It was a training trip so we had loads of work out there...first v had to get used to their timings 8am to 4pm....aint that cool timing...I mean u r thru with office by 4pm n the wholeevening is urs to do whatever u want....thats what i thot....but...surprise...the shops close by 6pm most of them by 4 or 5pm...so u cant really go shopping...most of the joints close by 8pm n 9pm is very very late for people out there on weekdays.....of course I still managed to go out n have fun during the evenings n especially on weekends..man is it happening or what!!!! n the best part of evenings out in UK is that even if the place is top of the line, they dont charge u the earth...unlike in bangalore wherein if the joint is in mg or brigades a beer sometimes costs u about 150 or even 400Rs...and the same would cost about 100 in other places...in UK a pint of beer is 2pound 40p everywhere....even in pubs u where u get to drool at babes decked up with hardly anything on them!!!!!

Hey!!! I didnt say that last one ok!!!! well...apart from a wonderful night life....coupla more things I liked bout that country.....and please....its not the case of the grass being greener.....the purchasing power of money, value for citizens, value for human beings, consideration for the citizens and their comfort, facilities provided by the government.....I can go on and on.....of course not to deny that I got to see original form of the British Raj hangover that we see in India...but then...despite all that they are leaps ahead in most of the things....tell me where in India can you eat a hearty meal for about 4 to 5 INR???!!! Does any currency under Rs.100/- carry any value at all in India?? But out there in UK a 5'er is considerable money...would u belive if I say that most of my saturday night outs didnt cost me more than a Tenner!!!! 10 pounds, n thats it, which is a lot of money...I still remember one day when we went to a joint for lunch and my colleague whipped out a 50 pound note as she wanted change!!! U shuda seen the look on the cashiers' face!!! she was zapped n dumbstruck....she immdtly ran to call her manager saying she wanted change for 50 bucks!!!!That scene was both hilarious and revealing at the same time to me.......I'm sure you'd get the same reaction if you took out a 5000 Rupee note in a
restaurant here....or would you???

Of course, that doesnt go to say that evvything is hunky dory out there...it is a bloody expensive country...rents will kill u..wages around 8 to 15k are common (per annum, fyi) but u still can have a good life if u r earnin around 25k per annum...coz evvythin else is economical.....ur food, ur clothes etc.,crime...never came across anything funny, but was warned by evvybody around that the pubs r THE place for brawls...coupla drinks and they r ready to bash u up, moreso if u dont have a white skin.... u can see more girls smokin than guys.....kids as young as 12/13 find ways to get a cig - coz it is illegal to sell tobacco or alcohol to anyone under 18.....but the kids do manage to find a way around...kids that you'd normally see here in India playin with their Toys...u'd find kids of the same age smoochin n petting around in trains, bus stops n shoppin malls...
Well...u gotta take the good with the bad.........
